Graham Range campground is in the Russell river national park, about 60km South of Cairns.
We saw our first Croc here for the trip, just a little one under 2m.
We also saw our Cassowary on the way to this campsite near a place called Etty Bay. It was pretty friendly, it almost tried to kiss Katie through the passenger window, cheeky little bugger.
We fished here pretty solidly from the shore but didn’t get anything, the creek was full of bait, potentially the biggest mullet I’ve ever seen but maybe nothing else. There’s some islands really close that looked promising, but we didn’t put the boat in as the sketchy local boat ramp only allowed a few hours on the water.
FACTS:
How to get there:
Take the turnoff for Bramston Beach off the Bruce. At bramston Beach turn left into sassafras st and follow it to the end.
Camping Cost:
5.95 pp per night
Boat Access:
The closest boat ramp is at Bramston Beach. It’s really dodgy, according to the locals you can launch 3 hours before high tide and need to be back at high tide on the dot.

Can you remember which number campsite you stayed in at Graham Range National Park ? I am headed there is a few weeks in my Trayon camper, and it seems to have some sunny patches for my solar panels. Thanks

Hi Rod, I can’t remember exactly, but it was one of 2 or 3 I think. There was enough solar there for us, had to move them a few times throughout the day though. Hopefully you do better fishing than I did!
